I like charging docks for my controllers, but this one was a bit disappointing. The dock works and the hub could be useful to some, but there are too many drawbacks for me, so back to the package it went.
First are the lights, on the dock itself and the controller, they are too bright for me, which I find distracting. If you have the dock on the side, not directly in your field of vision or if you could turn off the controller when it's charging (dock or wired, but not possible currently) that wouldn't be a problem.
Putting the O+ Excellence onto the dock to charge is also not as easy as it sounds. The controller "locks in place", when it's in the correct position, but when you put it a few mm too far to the left or right, it also "locks in", but sits at a slight angle, so I had to constantly adjust it. Maybe you get used to the feeling after a while, I just use a cable now and keep the controller in its case otherwise. At least you know when you've done it correctly, because the controller will light up like a Christmas Tree.
This isn't rocket science, it's just a charging dock for a controller. 8bitdo Ultimate, Xbox Elite 2 or PS5 Dualsense, all used with a charging dock, and I never had any problems. I remember an Astro A50 headset with a terrible dock, that you had to fiddle around with for a proper connection, and I didn't use that for long. I take my charging docks seriously.
Also, the USB hub in the dock seems to be pretty slow. It doesn't matter when you're using just the dongle for the O+ Excellence (which I still wouldn't recommend), but I had a Blitz 2 dongle connected as well, and that couldn't get higher than 250Hz (2000Hz normally). On other USB ports, even normal USB hubs I get the advertised speed. I didn't test any file transfer speeds.
