Hey everyone, Ray from the GadgetHyper team. We've spent a lot of time digging into 3D-printed mods for the Vader 5 Pro and G7 Pro lately, but today we're looking at a newcomer that's been gaining some traction: the Beitong Kunpeng 70 (KP70).

The KP70 has an interesting back-button setup. You have two small fixed buttons on top and two excellent, detachable metal paddles on the bottom. While the metal paddles are some of the best in the business, those top buttons? They're a bit... tiny.

I've been testing three new 3D-printed mods to see if we can turn "decent" ergonomics into "perfect" ones.

The Mods

Button Extensions & Paddle Replacements

Mod 01  ·  M1 / M3 Top Buttons

The "Wide" Extension for Top Buttons

These "sleeves" effectively double the width of the button, letting your fingers relax instead of hunting for a tiny point of contact. The Wide version is the clear winner over Narrow in testing — more surface area means a more natural reach every time.

⚠️

Honesty Check: These install via pre-applied adhesive tape. They stay put and make the reach much more natural — but long-term durability after months of sweaty gaming sessions is still being evaluated. We'll update this post once we have more hours on them.

Mod 02  ·  M2 / M4 Bottom Paddles
Shorter 3D-Printed Bottom Paddles for KP70 M2/M4

The Shorter Bottom Paddles

Wait — why replace the "perfect" metal paddles? For some players, the original paddles have a travel distance that's a bit too long, or leads to accidental misclicks during intense tracking. These 3D-printed versions are shorter, with a matte/frosted texture that feels grippy rather than slippery.

Who these are for: Players who want a "hair-trigger" travel distance, or those with smaller hands who find the metal paddles a bit too bulky to actuate consistently.

Pro-Tip

The 45-Degree "Sweet Spot"

The KP70 lets you mount the bottom paddles at different angles. Here's the breakdown from testing all three positions.

KP70 Paddle Angle Comparison — 0°, 45°, 90°

Parallel to Ground

The edges felt a bit "sharp" or scratchy against the fingers during sustained play. Not recommended for extended sessions.

90°

Vertical

Required too much actuation force to use consistently. Fatiguing over longer play sessions.

45°

The Meta  Sweet Spot

Follows the natural curve of your middle and ring fingers — actuation feels effortless and consistent. This is the recommended position.

Bonus: if you're using the Top Button extensions, 45° ensures the two sets of buttons don't bump into each other during use.

Final Thoughts

If you find the KP70 top buttons too small or the bottom paddles too long, these are a solid DIY fix. They don't turn it into a different controller — but they definitely refine the experience in all the right places.

I'm still putting more hours into these to see how that adhesive holds up over time. We'll follow up with a durability report once we have enough data.
