We have an important update regarding orders shipped to the European Union.
Following the EU's ongoing customs reform, another new measure will take effect on November 1, 2026: a €2 Union Handling Fee per distinct item for qualifying e-commerce shipments entering the EU from outside the Union, regardless of their purchase value.
This new fee follows the €3 Customs Duty introduced on July 1, 2026, and will apply alongside the existing measure. The two charges are separate but will operate concurrently from November 1, adding further import processing costs to shipments entering the EU.
To accommodate this change, GadgetHyper will increase its existing EU Customs Compliance & Pre-paid Delivery Fee by $2.50 USD (approximately €2), bringing the total fee from approximately $4.45 to $6.95 USD per parcel.
Under the new EU rules, the €2 handling fee is calculated based on the number of distinct items declared in a shipment, rather than a flat charge per parcel. However, GadgetHyper will only pass on a single additional $2.50 USD charge per parcel, regardless of how many distinct items it contains. We will absorb all additional handling costs beyond this amount, so you won't have to pay more simply because your package contains multiple products.
Please also remember that free standard shipping does not mean tax-free shipping. All EU-bound orders remain subject to applicable import VAT, customs duties, and other government-imposed charges under EU regulations. These charges are separate from standard shipping costs and are not waived by our free shipping policy.

- How the New Fee Works: The EU's €2 Union Handling Fee is calculated per distinct declared item. GadgetHyper will only charge customers one additional $2.50 USD per parcel, absorbing all additional handling costs beyond this amount.
- Affected Regions: All 27 European Union Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
- Exempt Regions: The United Kingdom (UK) and Switzerland are not subject to this EU-specific Union Handling Fee, as neither country is a member of the European Union. Please note that their own local import duties, taxes, and customs charges may still apply.
Note: GadgetHyper's checkout fee update takes effect at 00:00 GMT+8 on November 1, ahead of the EU's official implementation time, to accommodate international carrier pre-sorting and processing timelines.
What Has Changed?
The EU's new Union Handling Fee is a government-imposed charge of €2 per distinct item in qualifying e-commerce shipments entering the EU from outside the Union, regardless of the shipment's declared value.
This charge is separate from the €3 temporary customs duty introduced on July 1, 2026, which applies to qualifying consignments valued at €150 or less.
With both measures in place, the costs associated with importing goods into the EU have increased.
To help manage this additional expense, GadgetHyper is increasing its existing checkout fee by just $2.50 USD per parcel.
While the EU calculates its new handling fee based on individual declared items, we won't pass every individual charge on to our customers. Whether your package contains one product or several different products, you'll only pay this additional $2.50 once per parcel. GadgetHyper will cover the remaining handling costs.
Please note that this adjustment does not include or waive applicable EU import taxes, customs duties, or other government-imposed charges. These remain payable under the applicable EU tax and customs regulations, regardless of whether your order qualifies for free shipping.

Q1: Why is the EU Customs Compliance & Pre-paid Delivery Fee increasing?
The increase is a direct response to the EU's newly introduced Union Handling Fee, which takes effect on November 1, 2026.
Under the new rules, a €2 handling fee applies to each distinct item in qualifying e-commerce shipments imported from outside the EU, regardless of the shipment's declared value. This charge is separate from the €3 temporary customs duty applicable to qualifying consignments valued at €150 or less.

Regardless of how many distinct items your package contains, you'll only pay this additional $2.50 once. GadgetHyper will absorb all remaining handling costs.
Q2: How does this fee interact with GadgetHyper's Free Shipping Policy?
Our core shipping policy remains unchanged: GadgetHyper offers free standard shipping on orders over $40 USD to the European Union.
However, free shipping does not mean tax-free shipping.
Free standard shipping covers the standard delivery cost only. It does not exempt your order from applicable EU import VAT, customs duties, or other government-imposed charges. These charges are imposed under EU regulations and remain payable regardless of whether your order qualifies for free shipping.
Example: If you purchase a Flydigi Vader 5 Pro ($79.99 USD), your order qualifies for free standard shipping, meaning your standard shipping fee is $0.00.
However, the $6.95 USD EU Customs Compliance & Pre-paid Delivery Fee will still apply, along with any other applicable EU import taxes and customs charges.
Q3: Will I have to pay multiple customs handling fees if I buy more than one product?
No. You'll only pay one additional $2.50 USD charge per parcel, regardless of how many distinct items it contains.
Although the EU's Union Handling Fee is calculated per distinct declared item, GadgetHyper won't pass these charges on to you individually.
For orders containing multiple different products, we'll cover all additional handling costs beyond the single $2.50 USD increase collected at checkout.
You won't be charged an additional $2.50 for every product in your package, and you won't see the compliance fee multiplied based on the number of items you purchase.
This arrangement applies to GadgetHyper's checkout fee. Other applicable EU import taxes and customs duties remain subject to EU regulations.
Q4: Will I need to pay any additional customs duties or handling fees upon delivery?
Applicable EU import taxes and customs charges are government-imposed obligations and remain payable under EU regulations.
For orders shipped through our prepaid EU delivery channels, applicable customs charges covered by the selected shipping arrangement are handled in advance. Any charges already collected and prepaid will not be charged again upon delivery.
However, depending on the applicable tax and customs arrangements for your shipment, certain charges may be collected during customs clearance or by the local delivery provider instead.
Please also note that if a package is selected for an exceptional physical inspection by local authorities, additional administrative, storage, localized shipping, or inspection fees outside our prepaid shipping arrangements may remain the responsibility of the importer.
Q5: Is the EU Customs Compliance & Pre-paid Delivery Fee refundable if I return a product?
Please note that the EU's Union Handling Fee is non-refundable once incurred, even if an item is subsequently returned or found to be faulty.
Similarly, GadgetHyper's compliance fee covers customs declarations and prepaid processing arrangements. Once the shipment has entered customs processing, the $6.95 USD fee is non-refundable.
Refunds for the product itself will continue to follow our standard return policy.
Q6: Will this fee ever be removed?
We continue to monitor EU customs policies and international shipping costs closely. Should the applicable regulations or logistics costs change, we will review our pricing structure accordingly.
Furthermore, GadgetHyper is continuing to work toward establishing a localized fulfillment center within the European Union. Once this facility becomes operational and orders can be fulfilled from inventory already located within the EU, those domestic shipments will no longer be subject to the same import handling fee.
