April 29, 2026  ·  GameSir G7 Pro D-Pad Sets

Hey everyone, Ray from GadgetHyper here. The GameSir G7 Pro has been out for a while now, and most of us agree — the triggers and ABXY are top-tier. But can we talk about the stock D-pad? It's too smooth, the four "dots" for positioning are barely there, and it just feels... mid.

I've been testing a few custom D-pad replacements — some originally designed for the Vader 5 Pro but modified for the G7 Pro. Here's the breakdown of my first 48 hours with them.

The Install: 5-Second Upgrade. No tools required. Pull the stock D-pad off, align the slot on the new one, and press until it clicks. Zero risk, zero teardown.

Category 01
1 Variant

The Metal Contender

If you want that premium "Xbox Elite" feel, this is it. Polished metal, heavy in the best way, and incredible under the thumb.

25mm Metal Elite

Metal

Extremely smooth directional transitions. The extra weight creates a subtle "hair-trigger" effect — actuating faster with noticeably less effort than the stock pad.

Speed: Actuates faster with lighter touch — a real edge in fast-paced games.

Sensitivity: That same weight is a double-edged sword — accidental misinputs are possible until you adjust to the lighter touch required.

The 3D-Printed Squad

Eight variants across four design families — the Mosaic, the Disc, the Diamond series, the Deep Dish, and the Oreo. Each shapes your input experience in a meaningfully different way.

25mm vs 28mm Mosaic D-Pad — GameSir G7 Pro

25mm & 28mm Mosaic

3D-Printed

Two sizes, one clear winner. The 28mm feels too flat — like pressing a dinner plate. Go 25mm every time.

Verdict: The 25mm Mosaic is the best bang-for-your-buck in this entire lineup. Strong tactile feedback, no learning curve.

The Disc D-Pad — GameSir G7 Pro

The Disc  ·  Tap to enlarge

The Disc

3D-Printed

Classic circular base with heavily raised cardinal directions (U/D/L/R). The strongest directional definition in the entire lineup.

Verdict: If you hate accidental diagonals, this is your best friend. Purpose-built for precision over fluidity.

Diamond and Diamond Disc D-Pad — GameSir G7 Pro

Diamond & Diamond Disc

3D-Printed

Rhombus-shaped pads with raised edges that naturally "catch" the thumb. The Diamond has thicker textures for precise pointing; the Diamond Disc's larger surface area makes 8-way movement feel more natural.

Verdict: Pick Diamond for pointing precision, Diamond Disc for 8-directional fluidity. Both outperform the stock pad significantly.

Deep Dish D-Pad — GameSir G7 Pro

The Deep Dish  ·  Tap to enlarge

The Deep Dish

3D-Printed

High-tilted edges keep your thumb locked in; the deep center curve makes rolling diagonals feel like butter. Minor gripe: could be 1mm wider. But still the most balanced of the bunch.

Verdict: Ray's personal favourite. Best overall balance of control, comfort, and diagonal feel on the G7 Pro.

The Oreo D-Pad — GameSir G7 Pro

The "Oreo"  ·  Tap to enlarge

The "Oreo"

3D-Printed

Looks exactly like a chocolate cookie — no joke. The complex texture delivers decent grip but feels slightly scratchy on skin. Zero directional pointing definition.

Verdict: Style over substance. Great shelf piece, not your pick for a Street Fighter tournament.

Ray's Personal Favourite

The Deep Dish — Most Balanced of the Bunch

If you follow my Vader 5 Pro reviews, you know I love a Deep Dish. On the G7 Pro it's just as good — the high-tilted edges keep your thumb from sliding out, and the deep center curve makes rolling diagonals feel like butter. My only gripe? I wish it was 1mm wider. But it's still the most balanced cap in this entire test.

The Verdict

Best for Speed: The 25mm Metal Elite — lighter touch, faster actuation, premium feel.

Best for Control: The Deep Dish — balanced, locked-in, and diagonal-friendly.

Best Value: The 25mm Mosaic — strong tactile improvement with zero adjustment period.

These are just my first impressions, but they've already made my G7 Pro feel like a completely different — and better — controller. Happy to answer any questions in the comments below.
