A Domestic PS5 Controller Claims FULL DualSense Feature Parity — for ~$47
This one raised our eyebrows. A Chinese brand called IMECOO — the same brand behind the Tegenaria-style controller from Vol. 7 — has opened pre-orders for a PS5 controller whose product page claims complete DualSense functionality: adaptive triggers, audio support, and haptic motors. Not "works on PS5." The whole feature list.
If those claims hold up in real use, it's a genuinely big deal: third-party PS5 controllers have historically had to compromise on exactly those features. Color us cautiously optimistic, though — product pages have promised the moon before, and we'll believe adaptive triggers and proper haptics when reviewers get hands on it.
The rest of the spec sheet is oddly solid for the price: ¥339 ≈ $47 bundled with a charging dock, two extra back buttons, and Hall effect sticks. We're watching this one.
Full DualSense parity at $47 would be a market-shaker. The claim list is so complete that the burden of proof is on the product — expect a lot of review embargoes being watched when it ships.
LEADJOY Xeno Pro: Price and Release Date Are Official
After weeks of beta recruitment and detail drips, the Xeno Pro is finally locked in: launching September 10 · China at ¥199 ≈ $28, with all micro-switch buttons and an adjustable-tension stick (Ginfull KT26) riding on the Xeno Plus mold.
All-micro-switch everything at that China price is a direct shot across the bow of every competitor in the segment. For international readers: overseas timing and pricing aren't official yet — but the dock-less Xeno Pro is expected to land around $79.99 (expected). We'll carry it once it goes live on LEADJOY's international store; date TBD.
Even if the international price lands at $79.99, the Xeno Pro undercuts most of its direct competition with a spec sheet that reads like a checklist of this year's flagship trends. The value crown is LEADJOY's to lose.
ROG Raikiri II Pro Announced at ~$180 — the Everything-Pad
On the opposite end of the pricing spectrum: ASUS ROG has priced the Raikiri II Pro at ¥1,299 ≈ $180, and it's swinging for "everything but the kitchen sink" status. The feature pile includes:
The four back buttons are magnetic rather than screw-fixed — much friendlier for daily removal — and the row of five extra macro buttons along the bottom gives off distinct SCUF energy. None of these features are individually new, but the Raikiri II Pro is trying to be the one pad that has ALL of them at once.
"Everything at once" is a legitimate strategy at $180 — as long as every feature is actually good. Whether this is a greatest-hits collection or a compilation of compromises is exactly what reviews will need to answer.
8BitDo Ultimate 3E Finally Gets a Date: August 31
First spotted in our Vol. 8 roundup, the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E is officially hitting shelves August 31 — with price still under wraps at the time of writing. The big deal this generation: true wireless with official licensing, plus the modular direction teased earlier (detachable faceplate, swappable ABXY). No collab edition this time, which usually means the pricing won't be charity — we're curious what 8BitDo considers fair for a licensed wireless flagship.
Officially licensed wireless has been the missing checkbox for third-party Xbox-style pads. If 8BitDo prices this reasonably, it could be the default recommendation for a lot of players.
Xbox Turns 25, and the Anniversary Gear Is Rolling Out
Xbox is marking its 25th anniversary with a wave of products — some first-party, some from partners, and notably including Chinese brands GameSir and 8BitDo in the collaborator lineup. Details on individual products are still rolling out, but if you collect anniversary editions, keep your eyes open over the coming weeks.
Twenty-five years of Xbox, and the anniversary guest list including GameSir and 8BitDo says a lot about how far third-party controllers have come.
There's a "New" DualSense Edge. Emphasis on "New"
Sony has a revised DualSense Edge on the way, and here is the complete changelog: the cable is now USB-C to USB-C, and the carrying case is slightly smaller. That is the entire list.
Sony being Sony, nobody expected a mid-cycle reinvention — but a cable and a slightly snugger case is peak "we heard you like revisions." On the bright side, if you were already planning to buy a DSE, you may as well wait for this one.
The most Sony upgrade imaginable. The DSE remains a great pad — the revision just isn't a reason to upgrade if you already own one.
